We're AN OUTREACH MINISTRY!

The York Regional Dream Center is a community of those called to help meet the basic needs of others, for the purpose of building relationships, so others can come to know the love of God as expressed in the person of Jesus Christ.  

The YRDC is not a community of social justice for the sake of social justice; it is a community of love and support for the purpose of bringing glory to God. While we acknowledge that meeting the physical needs of those living in poverty has value, we believe the greatest poverty is a life without Christ. Our objective is simply that God would use us to show others their desperate need for Him. 

The Dream Center movement was inspired by the book “The Church that Never Sleeps” written by Pastor Matthew Barnett of Los Angeles, California. The Dream Center in LA currently meets the needs of over 40,000 people every month and has served as the model for the creation of over 100 independent Dream Centers worldwide.  

After reading Pastor Matthew’s book, Pastor Jeff Smith and the elders of Grace Fellowship Church Shrewsbury founded the YRDC in the Fall of 2011. Since that time, the church has acquired the entire shopping center on the hill and pledged its use to the region. While the Dream Center movement is not about a building or property, this facility is now used to create platforms for outreach and mobilize armies of Christ followers to go out into the surrounding areas as representatives for Him. 

The York Regional Dream Center is intended to be a community of Christ-followers from many different kingdom expressions (or churches). Our objective is to be used to by God as a unifying force for the one true church of Jesus. While founded and managed by the leadership of Grace Fellowship Church Shrewsbury, pastors and congregants from various local congregations help to lead and staff the day-to-day ministries of the YRDC.
